The process of creating art is an adventure in self discovery and a way to increase awareness of our relationship to the world around us. Join a three day course exploring colour through wet-on-wet painting and drawing before embarking on a kayaking trip to Espiritu Santo Island. Often capturing your own image of something heightens the memory and experience giving even greater fulfilment. The course aims to help you create your own sketch diary and open new horizons.

The itinerary:

Sunday 7th Jan: Fly to La Paz, in Baja California Sur, Mexico and transfer to a small beautiful hotel where you will be greeted by Jo Kimpton at 9.00pm. for introductions and orientation.

Monday 8th – Wednesday 10th January (9.30am – 5.30pm each day): The art program will be delivered in the intimacy and splendour of the hotel’s private gardens. Our studio will be set up to draw and paint with Jo over the next 3 days. Full itinerary for art program – see further below.

Thursday 11th – Saturday 13th January: Sea-kayaking, snorkelling, swimming with playful sea lion pups, hiking, camping and relaxing on Espiritu Santo. This spectacular island is Mexico’s “Jewel of the sea of Cortez.” Kayak in our state of the art equipment with expert local naturalist guides that will lead you along the spectacular shoreline in the very waters that Jacque Cousteau described as the ‘Natural Aquarium of the World.’ Small wonder when you step out of your kayak, put on a mask and discover the diversity of the underwater world. Our gourmet food, and the companionship of Jo Kimpton and our local guides will leave you wishing to return year after year ...

Saturday 13th pm: Return to La Paz for farewell banquet together. Stay in La Paz hotel.

Sunday 14th: Breakfast and depart.

No Previous Art or Kayak Experience is needed.

We can send you a detailed information on the art program with every session explained upon request.
