I have always had a love for the outdoors and eventually my activities drove me to start getting certified and leading groups. That was back in 2004. I keep coming back for more!
My personal exploration has taken me down many rivers around the world and included the Everest region.
Non-adventure time finds me working as an Outdoor Recreation Programmer for the Strathcona Wilderness Centre, and also instructing at HeLa Ventures and dreaming of my next expedition to guide!
I am doing very well enjoying family life in Edmonton. Olivia is 7 yrs, Scarlett is 4 yrs and they are keeping Kari and I very busy. Still working at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre organizing the programs and getting ready for the upcoming cross country ski season. Our next adventure starts in December when we are heading back to Thailand as a family to enjoy some beach time and climb some limestone.
Adam has been busy working as the Outdoor Recreation Programmer for the Strathcona Wilderness Centre. And is living with 3 beautiful girls now, wife Kari and 2 daughters Olivia and Scarlett. He hit up a 21 day Colorado River Trip this year(with a number or NRA dirt bags…I mean fellow professionals) said hello to Lava Falls, next to visit Lava North. And Adam is still loving life.
We have added to our family since the last gossip. The Binder Clan now consists of 2 little ones Olivia, who is four-years-old, and Scarlett, who is two-years-old. These two keep Kari and I very busy. I am still with the Strathcona Wilderness Centre as the outdoor recreation programmer, enjoying what the outdoors has to offer. Coming up in 2016, I am looking forward to a private trip down the Grand Canyon. Still loving life.
I am still extremely enjoying life as a new father, although I am missing the ability to up and leave at the drop of a hat, but it is all worth it. I have been still kayaking a tonne starting to concentrate my time to creek boating more than anything these days. I am heading to Thailand with the family over the month of December, planning on breaking the little girl into travelling as young as possible.
Life is still good in Edmonton, still working as the Outdoor Recreation Programmer at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre anxiously awaiting snow so I can put the sticks on and go for a rip.
All in all life is great, a bit busier but great.
