Day 1 (L/D)
We will pick you up at your hotel at 9:30 AM on your first day for the one hour drive to the trail-head where we unload the snowmobiles. Your guide will give you hands-on instruction to properly and safely operate a snowmobile. If you have no previous snowmobile experience or are not comfortable driving one, you will be a passenger with one of our guides. We then travel north to the cabins through beautiful country, stopping on the way for a hot beverage and lunch. After arrival at the cabins, we’ll get the cabins warmed up, cut a hole through the ice for water and settle in. After a hearty northern supper, we’ll tell you about the country and share stories related to the area that we are living in. When night time arrives that is when the Aurora watching begins. We’ll show you the best place to see the Aurora Borealis, including a newly constructed heated viewing cabin, perfectly located looking towards the northern sky.
Day 2 (or Day 3 and 4) (B/L/D)
The next morning you may wake up when you choose and breakfast will be waiting for you. After breakfast you have the options of snowmobiling, ice-fishing and snowshoeing. The choice is yours. If you want to stay inside and read a book that is perfectly fine as well. Lunch will be served no matter where you are, on a snowmobile or in the cabins. After dinner, more Aurora watching will ensue.
Day 3 (or Day 5) (B/L)
Breakfast will be served when you wake up. You have until early afternoon to do what you would like, either more ice-fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing or curling up in the cabin. After that you begin your trek back to the trailhead, where a vehicle will be waiting to drive you back to your hotel by 5PM.
Please note that the availability and timing of all activities is influenced by the weather and temperatures and will be at the guides’ discretion.
