Self Guided Adventures

On the Nahanni River

The South Nahanni River is Canada’s most celebrated wilderness river, featured in more films and books than perhaps any other river. Remotely located in the mountains east of the Yukon/NWT border, the Nahanni is accessible only by air. Approximately 600 people per year paddle the Nahanni and about half of these organize their own adventure. Nahanni River Adventures has been pleased to serve many of these groups each year with our comprehensive, self-guided, one-stop supply of river outfitting equipment and logistical services. The Nahanni River Outfitting Centre services groups departing from Fort Simpson or Lindberg Landing. We invite you to use the following information when organizing your own self-guided canoe or raft trip. We are on location all season and are able to offer you personalized assistance.

REGISTRATION WITH NAHANNI NATIONAL PARK-RESERVE

The Nahanni River is located within Nahanni National Park Reserve. Part of your trip preparation will involve registering with the park office and obtaining a Virginia Falls arrival date. Once your arrival date has been established, you will then be able to schedule your start and finish dates and build your self-guided package.
