FLIGHTS, RIVER TAXI AND GROUND TRANSPORT
- When planning your trip be sure to allow time for weather delays.
River Taxi Operations
A river taxi and van/trailer shuttle service can be arranged to meet you on an assigned date and time. An operator based in Nahanni Butte provides a river taxi service from the bottom of the Splits or Nahanni Butte. Passengers, canoes, rafts and equipment are transported in large aluminum boats powered by outboard motors. River taxis can take 4 passengers/2 canoes and gear or 5 passengers/ 1 raft and gear. Rates and payloads may vary based upon available watercraft, weather and water conditions. Our van and trailer will meet you and bring you and your gear back to your chosen destination of Lindberg Landing, Blackstone Territorial Park, Fort Simpson or Fort Nelson.
ROAD SHUTTLE FROM LINDBERG LANDING TO FORT SIMPSON:
A 15-passenger van is available for pickup at Lindberg Landing or Blackstone Territorial Park for trips back to Fort Simpson. The rate is $210/person (min. $1260). The time and location must be set in advance of your departure for the Nahanni.
Carrying capacity depends not only on the number of people, but also the amount and type of gear you are transporting. Additional charges may apply-please discuss with us.
Parking: If you drive to Lindberg Landing, parking can be arranged for a small fee by speaking with Sue Lindberg upon arrival. You will be asked to leave your keys at her house while you are away on your trip. Vehicles are left at your own risk.
- If you drive to Fort Nelson, you may park your vehicle at the Fort Nelson Airport
- If you drive to Fort Simpson, vehicles may be parked at your flight charter company’s base.
Extra Baggage: Storage of extra baggage is available for clients who make use of our shuttle service. We recommend that your valuables go on the trip with you, as we will not be held responsible for such items.
Rental Equipment: The outfitting equipment we supply is from the same proven inventory that we use on our guided trips. Our outfitting system has been specifically designed to meet the rigours of the Nahanni and we would be pleased to share this with you.
Rafts and Rowing Equipment: Our rafts are 16 foot Avon Pro Models and comfortably hold 4-6 people with gear. Also renting our popular inflatable kayaks creates more space in the raft.
Canoes and Canoe Equipment: 16 and 17-foot Open Canadian Canoes (2 person) Our canoe fleet is made exclusively of Royalex/ABS plastic with vinyl gunwales and wood seats. Our models include the Old Town “Tripper,” Esquif and the Nova Craft “Prospector.” Each canoe comes with a traditional “Trailhead” spray cover. Canoes are outfitted with skid plates, kneeling pads and bow/stern grab loops. The 16’ and 17’ Prospectors can be nested for use with the Beaver.
