Olivia Dragon

Hey my name is Liv and I am from Yellowknife NWT, but currently studying to become a teacher at Queen’s University in Kingston Ontario.

I’m Dene Suline and love sharing the land and my culture with others through this work. I strive to deepen others’ connection with the land through stories, traditions, and passed down knowledge while out on the river as much as I can.

Through the Indigenous Youth River Guide Training program a couple years ago, I had the privilege of getting all the training and qualifications I needed to become a certified guide, one of my biggest goals. Now I’m able to guide people down rivers like the Nahanni and the Wind River, following my passion and love for the land.

One of my favorite parts of being on the river is not only how connected you become to the land, but also how connected you become with each other. I love sharing knowledge, stories, and above all laughter with each other on our trips!

When I’m not studying or spending my summers whitewater guiding up north, I enjoy yoga, watercolor painting, bouldering, going for backpacking trips, and spending time with friends.

See you on the river !
