I grew up in the prairies and started paddling on the Elbow river in a foot and half of lazy water near my house- I just loved being on the water. I really got into whitewater boating while living in the Ottawa Valley working for an outdoor education program where we spent a ton of time on the Madawaska River. I feel privileged to have spent over a decade guiding around Ontario, Utah, Alaska and the Yukon. In 2017, I got to paddle the Hess River and was absolutely hooked on Northern River tripping. Some of my favorite things about river trips are drinking screaming hot coffee by the fire in the morning, spotting wildlife from the boats and falling asleep to the sounds of moving water nearby. In the winter, you’ll find me skiing with my dog and waiting for the snow to melt. I’m now based out of Whitehorse where I work in outdoor education and take time each summer to enjoy some of these incredible northern rivers.
